Inspiring Spaces for Growth and Development in Early Childhood

​Infants/Toddlers & Preschoolers
Participants in this hands-on workshop will examine sources of inspiration used in planning quality learning environments for young children. Participants will explore the Seven Principles of Design and ways to use them in planning learning environments for Early Childhood Education. Participants will further consider their own application and implementation of design practices using a related assessment tool.

​Positive Relationship Building Skills and Behavior for Healthy Social Dynamics

Participants will explore common challenges in negative relationship dynamics and the skills and prosocial behaviors needed to create healthier social exchanges through problem solving, communication, and connection. Strategies based upon theories and research related to psycho-social stages, attachment, parenting/teaching styles, and relationship dynamics will be examined to promote healthy development and relationships from early childhood to adulthood.

Examination of Child Development and Delay: Birth to Age Five

​Infants/Toddlers & Preschoolers
Participants will examine the distinctions, similarities and differences of typical and atypical child development across six developmental domains, including "red flags" or potential delay in infants, toddlers and preschoolers. The 13 categories of disabilities will be explored along with related special education services available through Early Intervention and Early Childhood Special Education (EI/ECSE). An activity-based approach to early intervention will be examined.

Participants in this hands-on workshop will examine tools, techniques, and tips for effective facilitation that address adult learning principles, communication skills, group dynamics, fun icebreakers, and engaging activities. We will explore ways to build confidence, minimize stress, and cultivate competence as unique professional development leaders.

Shining the Light on the Art & Science of Caring Practices in Early Childhood Education

Participants in this workshop will examine the core value of responsive care and related care practices with young children using the seven lamps of care. Ways to apply health promoting care practices to the daily routines of meals and snacks, sleep and rest, toilet teaching and learning, and self-care will be illuminated.
